The field of oral and maxillofacial surgery is a specialized branch of dental medicine that focuses on surgical treatment for various diseases of the oral cavity. The scope of this field is broad, including oral cancer, jaw deformities, maxillofacial trauma, inflammation, cysts, and more. Many cases require hospitalization and surgery under general anesthesia. In addition to dental medicine, extensive knowledge of systemic diseases is essential. In this field, we prioritize the integrated advancement of clinical practice, education, and research, with a focus on training oral and maxillofacial surgeons who possess advanced surgical skills and comprehensive patient management abilities. Research activities include the development of new treatment methods for oral cancer and regenerative medicine for large defects in the jawbone.
